What You’ll Learn and What Comes Next After Your Test

Your Hearing Test Results Explained

Detection of Hearing Loss Type

Now you might know that you have a hearing loss, but how bad is it? Multiple clinically-proven techniques and instruments are used in our full hearing assessment at Ivory Hearing to determine the extent, type, and specifics of your particular hearing loss.

Identify the Best Course of Action

Hearing aids are not the only solutions for treating hearing loss. Some types of hearing loss can be treated medically such as earwax cleaning, ear infection.  While some have to be treated surgically. A full hearing test will give our audiologist important information to help determine the best course of action for your treatment.

Identify Suitable Hearing Aids Type

If your particular hearing loss requires the use of hearing aids such as sensorineural hearing loss, you would provide with a wide range of hearing aids styles and types to choose from. Which one works best for your hearing loss? A full hearing test can determine what types of hearing aids would work well for your hearing profile.

Communication with Your Doctor

Hearing loss is not just affecting your hearing, it affects many other aspects of your health too. After every hearing test, our audiologist will write a detailed audiology report in regards to your hearing health condition to your doctor. This way your doctor isalways  kept in loop with any progress and recommendation.

I just want to express how happy I am with the services Ivory Hearing has provided for me. I did a couple of things wrong and they were straightened out for me very quickly. I am very, very happy with the attention. My hearing aids have made a big difference to my family because now I can hear what they say. I am very pleased with everything.

Dear Shuey, I am writing to you to thank you for your excellent service and understanding. As you know, my hearing loss (even with my previous Government-provided hearing aids) was deteriorating over a number of years. My previous audiologist advise me that he could not adjust my hearing aids any louder. So I went to get a review of my hearing at your Warrandyte clinic. Much to my delight, I was fitted with new hearing aids and with your expertise and guidance, my hearing capacity improved dramatically. Thanks again for your kindness and understanding.

I have put off having a hearing test for a long while knowing that I do have hearing loss due to working in engine rooms on ships, oil rigs, trawlers etc for many years. I was having trouble hearing the TV and discussion in meetings at work when in a large room. I had always thought that the loudness of TV & meetings are okay but could not make out the words. I guess I was reluctant to admit that I needed help and, at my age, not keen to be wearing hearing aids. After testing and looking at the options, I have chosen ITE (In-the-ear) hearing aids and I am very happy with them. I have to remember to take them out when having shower or going to bed as they are so comfortable I forget I am wearing them. I would recommend Ivory Hearing to any prospective hearing aid buyer for excellent pressure-free, friendly advice & service!

You can. Free hearing tests online are useful tools that can let you know if you have any hearing loss. However, most online hearing tests are not calibrated. Our equipment is calibrated yearly for more accurate results. If your online test result shows that you have a hearing loss, please contact us for a full assessment.

A free hearing test is a quick screening test to see if you have a hearing loss or not. A full hearing assessment provides more details about your hearing health, such as the type and degree of any hearing loss, the source of hearing loss, your inner and middle ear condition, etc.
