Top Tip Tuesday – First Time Hearing Aid User

The world is actually a very noisy place. If you have been living with a hearing loss, you may have forgotten some everyday noises – refrigerator running, footsteps, the sound of chewing, a ticking clock, running tap, jingling of the keys, chirping of birds etc.

Wearing a hearing aid for the first time takes some time to adjust because your brain needs time to relearn all the new sounds.

Only by wearing the hearing aids consistently, your brain will then learn how to filter out some of those background noises for you. For some people this takes a few days, for others it may take several weeks.
